Contact your elected officials

Please continue to contact both of your Senators by phone, fax, mail, email to ask them to cosponsor S.2743 The Cold War Service Medal Act 2009.

Contact your Representative ask them to cosponsor H.R. 4051 The Cold War Service Medal Act 2009, and also H,RES. 900 which would designate May 1 as Cold War Veterans Recognition Day.

These bills will at long last provide some honor and respect for the so many men and
women who placed their lives on the line from Sept. 1945 to Dec. 1991, the period known
as the Cold War. Long forgotten and often ignored and dissed; told they are not veterans.

Many live were lost during the struggle to contain Communism, protect freedom and avoid
the assured mutual destruction of an atomic war.

From March 29 to April 8 all elected officials will be in their home states. This would
be the perfect time to call their local offices and ask for a face to face meeting with
your Senator or Representative.

Ask them to cosponsor these bills, and vote for passage when the bill reach the floor
for a vote.

Ask them to please consider having the bills included in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2011. The NDAA is being written now, and a much better chance
for passage of the Cold War Service Medal would be if it were included in the NDAA.

With your help this can be the year we bring to fruition one of our goals. Tell your
officials now, tell them loud, and tell them often.

  1. Even though Politicians today, in Washington DC say 1 thing to the "Cold War Veteran" an what they really mean to us all is that were on our own. They will never reconize us unless we, start by putting in office Cold War Veterans like ourself's. This is the "ONLY" way that anything like this will pass any house.
