In Riverside County, California is a Memorial to Cold War Veterans. Those who participated in
Joint Exercise Desert Strike.
In May of 1964 100,000 U.S. Army and Air Force personnel and over 900 aircraft and 500 tanks during
a two week exercise simulated nuclear air and ground battle between two mythical countries.

Thirty two warriors gave their lives in this exercise, which is stated to have cost 54 million dollars.
